Probably only played this once!

Let It Be

The original picture sleeve for Let It Be. It was very rare in those days for singles to be issued in picture covers in the UK. The only other one I know of was Penny Lane - but I don't have an original of that.

Day Tripper

Just like this for the original Parlophone sleeve. I'm thinking of entering the competition to win the Marconiphone Stereogram worth £55 but the closing date is 31st March 1966.

Ain't She Sweet

One of the Tony Sheridan/ Polydor singles. This must be a later pressing as the early ones were on orange Polydor and this is red.
Still quite rare though.

all you need is love

Two copies of the same single, one of which is common and one of which is rare. First copy is the common one, contains the Live world television credit, whereas the 2nd one doesn't - very early pressing which makes it pretty rare!
Yes this is quite anorakish isn't it?
But I like it!

Odd titles

Two examples of odd titles.
A Capitol USA pressing of ' Ticket to Ride' taken from the film ' 8 Arms to Hold You' - the working title of the film which became 'Help!'.
Then we have Les Beatles a french pressing from the film ' 4 garcons dans le vent' - 4 boys in the wind?
which was ' A Hard Days Night' in english. Note one of the song titles is
'If I Feel' instead of 'If I Fell'

Classical spoofs

three spoofs on Beatles tunes done in a classsical style. Issued 1965/1966 - probably as people were taking the music a little more seriously than before!

yellow submarine figures

More cash ins on the Beatles re-release of Yellow Sub. Issued in a limited edition these figures were made of Porcelain. Can't remember how much I paid - I was probably mad at the time. Nice little certificate with it!

Help and Hard Days Night novels

A cheap cash in on the films. Novels of the stories of the first two films. Doubt they'd win any prizes for literature. Never read them myself.

First Day Cover

great set of stamps issued by the Royal Mail. With Liverpool first day of issue postmark.

Mini Corgi Toy

Heres a rarity. After the initial batch were made of Corgi toys a few years later they produced this Mini decorated with Apple rooftop etc. But - Apple didn't like it and the car was withdrawn. Don't know how many were sold but I got one!

Magical mystery toy

Another of the Corgi Toys - this time the Magical Mystery Coach - right down to the correct number plate - well I guess - haven't actually checked...

Yellow submarine Corgi Toy

This is the re-issue Corgi toy - re-issued 1990's , originally issued 1968 to tie in with the release of the film. I've got the box somewhere too....and this inspired me to buy all the other Beatle Corgi toys too... just a big kid really!

TICKETS

How inconsiderate of my parents not to take me to a Beatles concert. I was at at least 5 years old when they last played live - and 8 if you count the Apple rooftop.
Anyhow, this is the closest I've come. Seen McCartney a few times and Ringo once solo and once with McCartney at the 'Concert for George' tribute at the Albert Hall. Never saw George or John.....

Cigarette Cards

Well I'll call them cigarette cards but really just a set of cards issued by WARUS with Sgt Pepper images.

Anthology promo cd

A promo CD issued for Anthology 2. Contains a few tracks as a sampler.
